The family of the late Mrs.Nadarajah has come forward with a profound contribution to the creation of a library, and the Tamil Rights Group takes great pride in commemorating her memory by naming the library after her. Mrs. Nadarajah left an indelible mark on the Tamil community after her migration to Canada in 1976. She was a dedicated grassroots organizer, a staunch advocate for human rights, and a resolute defender of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a groundbreaking achievement, she was elected as the first female president of the Tamil Eelam Society of Canada<\/strong> in 1991 at the age of 71, a role she held for two terms. Her outstanding commitment was recognized in 1995 when she received the Ontario Senior Achievement Award and the esteemed “Take it to Heart” Citizenship Award from the Federal government, both acknowledgments of her remarkable contributions to the Tamil Canadian community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In 2013, the family established a learning center for children in Kokuvil, Northern Province, in her honor, which served the local community until 2019. Mrs. Nadarajah’s enduring aspiration to establish a library in Tamil Eelam has now been realized through the family’s gracious contribution, an honor they hold dear.

The official tribute to Mrs. Nadarajah and her numerous contributions will be prominently showcased during the grand opening ceremony on October 7th 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
